Care, thoughtfully reimagined
Jewell + Kudro was founded on a simple belief: exceptional care should attend not only to what a person needs, but to who they are.
We provide private concierge nursing and care management for older adults and their families throughout Northeast Ohio, combining clinical expertise with the time, attention, and continuity that are often difficult to find within traditional systems of care.
Kara Kudro, RN, BSN
Co-Founder & Clinical Director
Kara is a registered nurse with experience in narrative medicine, geriatrics, and palliative care. After completing a bachelors degree in English literature, a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN), and practicing for more than a decade as a nurse caring for the complex needs of older adults, Kara is now completing the nurse practitioner training (NP) with a specialization in geriatrics. Her approach to care is deeply relational, attending to clinical needs while remaining mindful of comfort, dignity, family dynamics, and the experience of living with illness and change.
Jessica Jewell, PhD, MFA
Co-Founder & Director of Narrative Care
Jessica is an educator, writer, and narrative scholar whose work explores the intersections of the arts and sciences. She serves as the Senior Academic Director of the Wick Poetry Center at Kent State University, where her creative and scholarly work examines how the arts can support connection, meaning-making, and emotional well-being.
Together, we created Jewell + Kudro to offer something increasingly rare in healthcare: highly personalized care with the time and space to truly know the person receiving it. Our practice brings together nursing, advocacy, companionship, education, and narrative approaches to support not only health and safety, but dignity, agency, connection, and meaning.
